Punjab Shortens Driving License Test Retake Time by Nearly a Month

The interim Chief Minister of Punjab, Mohsin Naqvi, has issued a significant directive concerning the retake of the driving license examination. During an unannounced visit to the Police Khidmat Markaz at Liberty Chowk in Lahore last evening, Naqvi engaged with the public, attentively hearing their grievances. In a pivotal move, CM Mohsin Naqvi mandated a reduction in the waiting period for retaking the driving license test to 15 days. Formerly, individuals had to endure a 42-day interval before being permitted a second attempt to pass the test and acquire their licenses. Furthermore, he instructed arrangements to be made for citizens to cope with the cold weather. In response to complaints about extensive queues at service centers, the interim CM declared the initiation of a system allowing citizens to schedule appointments in advance before their visits to Khidmat centers, starting from December 25. Moreover, he announced the impending launch of mobile applications for acquiring driving licenses and learner’s permits, catering to both Android and iOS users.
